Bangabandhu Gold Cup reaches semis

CHITTAGONG, Dec 21 (UNB): The Bangabandhu Gold Cup Primary School Football Tournament in Chittagong advanced to the semifinal stage Sunday at the MA Aziz Stadium here.

Four teams-Dabua Govt Primary School of Raozan, Madhya Bahorpur Govt Primary School of Sitakunda, Purba Baharchhara Govt Primary School of Banshkhali and Chaturi Govt Primary School of Anwara-reached the semis of the meet eliminating their rivals in the quarterfinals Sunday.

In the day's quarterfinals, Dabua Govt Primary overpowered Belmuri Govt Primary of Patiya by 10-9 goals in a marathon tie-breaker;

Madhya Bahorpur Govt Primary beat Uttar Parua Govt Primary of Rangunia by 2-1 goals; Purba Baharchhara Govt Primary defeated Ambagan Govt Primary of Double Mooring by 4-2 goals while Chaturi Govt Primary beat Abdus Sattar Bhaiyan Primary of Mirsarai by 1-0 goal.
