Bangladesh A play MCC today

Touring Bangladesh A team will play their second one-day match against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Durham today (Friday), reports UNB.

The second string Bangladesh side, which conceded a six- wicket defeat against English county Lancashire in the first one-day match Wednesday, will play their last one-day match with another county side Durham on Aug 3 at Chester-le-street.

In the first one-day match on Wednesday, an all-round performance by F du Plessis enabled Lancashire to beat Bangladesh by six wickets with 13.2 overs to spare.

After the departure of four top order batsmen -- KR Brown (4), PJ Horton (17), SG Law (7) and MB Loye (19) -- for 64 runs in 16 overs, du Plessis partnering with SJ Croft guided the team to victory contributing not out 119 runs in the 5th wicket stand.

The pair remained unbeaten as Lancashire scored match-winning 183 for 4 in 36.4 overs, after dismissing Bangladesh for 182.

F du Plessis, who earlier claimed three wickets for 18 runs, contributed not out 93 off 82 balls with a number of fours and sixes.

Number six batsman Croft scored a patient 28 not out playing 59 balls that included one four and a six.

Pacer Dollar Mahmud scalped the first three wickets for 33 runs, while Rubel Hossain took one for 57 runs.

Earlier, sent into bat first, touring Bangladesh A were all out for 182 in 45.5 overs against Lancashire at Moss Lane Elderley Edge.

Bangladesh received an early blow as skipper Junaed Siddiqui returned to the pavilion with a duck leaving team total at 1.

But number three Nazimuddin pairing with left-handed opening batsman Tamim Iqbal scored 71 runs in the 2nd wicket stand before Nazimuddin departed for the 3rd highest 24 runs, off 27 balls with four fours.

Left-handed opener Tamim Iqbal contributed team highest 50 runs off 53 balls with nine fours, Rokibul Hassan made 14, Shakib Al Hasan 4, Nayeem Islam 30, Dhiman Ghosh 7, Mosharraf Hossain 20 and Dollar Mahmud 13.

Fdu Plessis and SP Cheetham claimed three wickets apiece for 18 and 25 runs respectively.

The visiting Bangladesh A team remained unbeaten in the longer version cricket in the ongoing England tour playing five three-day matches.

Bangladesh beat English county Derbyshire by one-wicket in the 4th three-day match. Earlier, in the four three-day matches, they drew with England Under-19 team, Warwickshire, Leicestershire and South Africa.
