Bangladesh A Team win team title

Bangladesh A team, with Mohammad Sajib Ali and Mohammad Ismail, emerged champions in team category of the Runner Group 30th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship after the 2nd and last round matches at the Kurmitola Golf Club in the city Thursday, reports UNB.

Bangladesh A team, which played five under par 139 on the first day, made two under par 142 on the 2nd day (Thursday) to take the team title with total seven-under-par (139+142) 281.

Myanmar team comprising Maung Maung Oo and Kyaw Thet Oo played four over par (147+145) 292 to finish runners-up while Thailand team of Witchayanon Chothirunrungreun and Sadom Kaewkanjana was declared 2nd runners-up playing 296.

In the men's individual category of four rounds, Sajib Ali of Bangladesh clinched the top slot scoring five under par (70+69) 139 after the 2nd round while another Bangladeshi golfer Mohammad Ismail was in the 2nd slot playing two under par (69 +73) 142.

Bangladesh golfer Mohammad Rasel holds the 3rd place scoring one under par (71+72) 143 while Akbar Hossain of Bangladesh B team and Kyaw Thet Oo of Myanmar shared the 4th slot with one over par 145.

The champion of individual category will be determined on the basis of four round aggregated scores.

A total of 185 golfers including 37 foreign golfers from eight countries-Afghanistan, Bhutan, Pakistan, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Sri Lanka and hosts Bangladesh-are taking part in the championship.
