India's one-day Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni thinks Bangladesh are a 'very good' One Day International (ODI) side, reports  bdnews24.com.
The observation comes from a man who has watched the Tigers play in different formats over last 11 years. Incidentally, Dhoni made his international debut in an ODI against Bangladesh in December 2004 in Chittagong.
After retiring from Tests during the last Australia tour, Dhoni starts his new journey only as India's ODI captain against the Tigers too.
The teams will clash in a three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The first game will be played today (Thursday).
The 33-year old wicket-keeper batsman is aware of Bangladesh's improvement in the one-day format.
"They (Bangladesh) are a very good ODI team. Also, if you see, they have been playing ODI cricket for a long time," he said.
Dhoni also thinks playing T20 Internationals have helped Bangladesh to calculate their strengths and weaknesses.
"…it gives them the right kind of calculative power as to when they can take the risk and when it's important to hold on.
"I always felt they had a very good ODI side."
Dhoni thinks Bangladesh will improve in Tests in the course of time.
"They have shown improvement when it comes to Test cricket but, obviously, it's played over five days, a couple of innings each, so you have to play a bit more consistent cricket.
