Bangladesh beat MPCA by 18 runs in 1st one-dayer

Bangladesh Under-19 team made a good start in the three-match one-day series beating visiting Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) Under-19 team of India by 18 runs in the first match at Fatullah Outer Stadium in Narayanganj on Monday, reports UNB.
Batting first after winning the toss, hosts Bangladesh team posted 264 for 7 in stipulated 50 overs that featured two half centuries by Nazmul Hossain and Zakir Hossain,
After the departure of two openers-Munim Shahriar (10) and Joyraj Sheikh (9) -- for 27 runs in 4.5 overs, one down Nazmul Hossain pairing with number four Zakir Hoosain contributed 117 runs in the 3rd wicket stand to carry the team total to 144 runs from 27 overs.
Nazmul Hossain scored 67 runs off 100 balls with six fours, wicket-keeper cum batsman Zakir Hossain added 51 runs off 72 balls with five fours and Mohammad Saifuddin made 39 runs off 50 balls with one four and a six.
Skipper Mehedy Hasan Miraj scored 30-ball 42 runs with five fours and a six and was later adjudged man of the match.
Ashwin Das and Shreyansh Sharma claimed three wickets each for 39 and 50 runs respectively.
In reply, MPCA Under-19 folded their innings at 246 for 7 in quota 50 overs with Nitish Lashkar scoring 58 runs and Siddharth Patidar 51 runs.
Rifat Pradhan took two wickets for 38 runs.
The other two one-day matches between the two teams will be held on June 11 and 12 at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Earlier, Bangladesh and MPCA played to a draw in their only three-day match at BKSP-3 in Savar.
In their two-match four-day series, Bangladesh won 1-0 after playing a draw in the first match at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah while the home side beat visiting MPCA by 134 runs in the 2nd match at BKSP ground-3.
