Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka Invitaion XI by three wickets, Aftab Ahmed hit unbeaten 91

Ahead of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh national cricket team earned a morale boosting three-wicket victory against Sri Lanka Invitation Eleven in the only one-day practice match at the Police Park ground in Colombo Wednesday, reports UNB.
This was the first victory for the Bengal Tigers in the ongoing Sri Lanka tour after being whitewashed by Sri Lanka in the three-match test series with frustrating innings defeat in all the matches.
Bangladesh will play the three ODI matches against Sri Lanka on July 20, 23 and 25, all in Colombo.
In the day's practice match, Sri Lanka batted first after winning the toss and scored a moderate 241 for 5 in stipulated 50 overs with Tharanga Paranavithana scoring 64 runs.
Ian Daniel (58), Lasith Fernando (30), Upul Chandana (23) and Angelo Matthews (not out 22) were the other notable scorers for Sri Lanka Invitation Eleven.
Syed Rasel and Shakib Al Hasan claimed two wickets each for 37 and 41 runs respectively while Forhad Reza took one wicket for 42 runs.
In reply, Bangladesh reached their target of 242 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 49.3 overs.
Aftab Ahmed Chowdhury contributed run-a-ball 91 not out with four fours and two sixes.
Opener Tamim Iqbal scored 45 runs off 69 balls with nine fours, Mushfiqur Rahim made 27 off 49 balls, Forhad Reza 26 off 25 balls with two sixes and Shakib Al Hassan 16 runs off 20 balls with two fours.
