Bangladesh face Afghanistan in Bangamata Volleyball today

Bangladesh Women's Volleyball team will start their Bangamata Asian Senior Women's Central Zone International Volleyball Championship'2019 taking on Afghanistan in their first match at 4 pm at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur in the city today (Saturday), reports UNB.

Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will inaugurate the six-day meet as the chief guest in the afternoon although the Maldives will play Kyrgyzstan in the day's first match at 10am.

GTV will telecast live the inauguration ceremony.

Ahead of the championship, Bangladesh women's team made a practice session at Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium on Friday.

Bangladesh women's team are going to take part in the international event after two years. They played in a tri-nation volleyball competition in Nepal in 2017.

Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) is going to introduce AVC E-score sheet in the volleyball competition for the first time.

Five-nations--Afghanistan, Nepal, the Maldives, Kyrgyzstan and hosts Bangladesh will take part initially on league-basis matches and later two top teams will play in the final at 3pm on November 14.

In the remaining league basis matches, hosts Bangladesh will play the Maldives tomorrow (Sunday), Nepal on November 12 and Kyrgyzstan on November 13, all at 3pm at the same venue.
