Bangladesh face Philippines today

Bangladesh will play the Philippines in their 3rd and last Group H match of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers at the Chonburi Stadium in Thailand today (Tuesday), reports UNB.

The match between two lowly and pointless teams will kick off at 3:30 pm.

Bangladesh team have already eliminated from the four-nation Group H of the U-23 Asian Cup after suffering two consecutive defeats to Malaysia and hosts Thailand.

Bangladesh started their campaign in the AFC U-23 Qualifiers with 0-2 goals defeat to Malaysia in the opening Group match on Wednesday and suffered a 0-3 defeat to Thailand in the 2nd match on Saturday at the same venue.

Ahead of the match against the Philippines, Bangladesh made their practices in Thailand Monday afternoon.

After the 2nd round matches, both the Thailand and Malaysia topped group list securing full six points from two matches.

But, hosts Thailand are ahead of the Malaysia in goal differences.

However, the top two teams will face each other also today (Tuesday) at 7:30 pm at the same venue to decide the group champions.

Bangladesh remained at the 3rd slot and the Philippines is in the 4th and last slot in the four- team fray without any point.
