Bangladesh need 318 to whitewash India

After sealing the first-ever historic One Day International (ODI) series 2-0, Bangladesh needed 318 runs to whitewash giant India after allowing them to score 317 runs for six in 50 overs in the 3rd and last match of the Za'n Zee Ice Cream Cricket Series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.

Mustafizur Rahman touched the world record of Ryan Harris of Australia claiming 13 wickets in a three-match ODI series taking two wickets against India in the 3rd and last ODI match Wednesday.

After the departure of top three batsmen at 158 runs in 26 overs, captain MS Dhoni pairing with Ambati Rayudu contributed 93 runs off 16.3 overs to carry the team total to 251 runs from 158.

Number five Ambati Rayudu was caught behind by wicket keeper Litton Das off a Mashrafe ball, scoring 44 runs from 49 balls with three fours with scoreboard showing 251.

MS Dhoni contributed a captain's knock of 69 runs off 77 balls hitting six fours and one six before he was brilliantly caught by Mustafizur at deep mid wicket off a Mashrafe delivery at 268 in 45.2 overs.

Mustafizur Rahman made the first breakthrough dismissing famed opener Rohit Sharma for the 3rd time in a row by off-cutter in the 7th over.

Rohit scored 29 runs off 29 balls including two fours and one six before he was caught by Litton Kumar Das leaving India at 39 for 1.

World number one all rounder Shakib Al Hasan then bowled out Indian Test captain Virat Kohli (25 off 35 balls) at 114 in 19.5 overs.

Shakib broke the second wicket pair between Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan after they contributed 75 runs in 12.5 overs when Shikhar Dhawan was in batting with run-a-ball 55 with seven fours.

Dhawan completed his 14th ODI half-century hitting a boundary off an Arafat Sunny delivery in the 18th over of the innings, scoring 53 runs off 50 balls with seven fours.

Shikhar Dhawan again paired with skipper Mahendar Singh Dhoni and contributed 44 runs in 7 overs in the third wicket stand.

Dhawan was finally caught by Nasir Hossain off a skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza ball scoring the team highest 75 off 73 balls with 10 fours when scoreboard showed 158 for 3 in 26.5 overs for the visitors.

MS Dhoni hit his 59th half century by a single off an Arafat Sunny delivery in 38.5 overs in the crucial moment scoring 50 off 58 balls with four fours and one six leaving team total 218/3 in 38.5 overs.

Besides, Suresh Raina (38), Stuart Binny not out 17), Axar Patel (not out 10) were the other major scorers for India.

Captain Mashrafe was the most successful among the Bangladeshi bowlers grabbing three wickets for 76 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket for 33 runs.
