Sohag Gazi
Bangladesh recalled Wednesday off-spinner Sohag Gazi to their 14-member squad for the two Twenty20 internationals against visiting South Africa next week, reports AFP.
Gazi has not played for Bangladesh since he was suspended from bowling over a flawed action in October last year.
He was cleared to bowl in February after undergoing remedial work but a dip in form meant he did not regain his lost place in the squad.
The 24-year-old will now take the place of injured Mohammad Mahmudullah who is still nursing a finger injury that kept him out of the recent home series against India. "We are looking for an option after Mahmudullah's injury and he (Gazi) fulfils our requirement," chief selector Faruque Ahmed told the news agency.
Leg-spinner Jubair Hossain was called up for his maiden Twenty20 covering for injured paceman Taskin Ahmed.
Taskin is out for at least three weeks after he suffered a rib injury during a training session last week.
The two Twenty20 matches will be held at Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on July 5 and 7.
