Bangladesh U-19 team needs 34 runs to avoid innings defeat against Sri Lanka team

Bangladesh Under-19 team, now touring Sri Lanka, needed another 34 runs to avoid innings defeat against Sri Lanka Under-19 team on the third and last day of the 2nd three-day match today (Saturday) at the Police Ground in Colombo, reports UNB.
Replying to Sri Lanka's first innings total 314, Bangladesh resumed the first innings on the second day (Friday with overnight score of 11 for 3 and were bundled out for just 97 runs in 41.4 overs to be the victim of follow-on.
Night watch batsman Zabid Hossain, who was batting with three runs, scored team highest 17 runs, another night watch batsman (1) contributed 11 while skipper Mahmudul Hasan and Iftekhar Nayem made 14 runs each.
Pathirana grabbed four Bangladesh wickets conceding 24 runs, Perera claimed three for 12 while Jayaratne took two for 17 runs.
Visiting Bangladesh Under-19 team opened the second innings and scored 183 for 4 in 55 overs at stumps on the second day with skipper Mahmudul Hasan contributing 47 runs off 97 deliveries, featuring three fours and one six.
Opener Mithu hit 38 runs off 39 balls, including four fours and one six, one down Iftekhar Nayem made 35 off 63 deliveries with three boundaries while opener Ronny scored 17 runs off just 10 balls with three hits to the fence.
Tapash Ghosh and Ashraful Aziz were batting with 28 and 14 runs respectively.

The first three-day match between the two teams ended in draw at the Colts Cricket Club ground in Colombo Monday.
