September 13, 2014 00:00:00

Bangladesh will take on hosts West Indies in the 2nd Test of their two-match series beginning today (Saturday) at the Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia, reports UNB.

The match will begin at 8:00 pm (Bangladesh Time).

In the first Test, the Tigers conceded a humiliating 10-wicket defeat against the home side at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent on September 5-9.

Bangladesh Captain Mushfiqur Rahim's century of 116 runs in the second innings could only avoid the innings defeat.

Bangladesh will play the 2nd Test eying a draw to wrap up their West Indies tour.

Earlier, the Tigers suffered a humiliating 0-3 defeat in the three-match One Day International (ODI) series against the hosts while their one-off T20I was abandoned due to rain.

The two countries played 11 Test matches since 2002 with West Indies tasting seven wins and Bangladesh two and two matches ended in draw.

Bangladesh batsman Imrul Kayes has been ruled out of the 2nd Test after going down with a skin infection. Anamul Haque is most likely to replace Kayes.
