Barisal lead by 97 runs against Sylhet

Barisal Division took 97 runs lead against Sylhet Division after Day Two in a three-day match of the Young Tigers Under-18 National Cricket Competition at the Rangpur Cricket Garden Saturday, reports UNB.
On the 2nd day Saturday, Sylhet Division resumed the first innings with overnight 57 for 1 in 35 overs and eventually scored 123 runs for all in 61.4 overs, riding on a 2nd wicket stand of 80 runs in 41.5 overs, contributed by the overnight pair Asadullah Al-Galib and Mamun Ahmed.
Skipper Asadullah Al-Galib scored 65 runs off 166 balls with 7 fours while Mamun Ahmed added 27 runs. The remaining batsman failed to reach the double digit score.
Mridul Davnath was the successful bowler for the side grabbing six wickets for 30 runs in 23.4 overs while Al Jabiruz Jaman took two wickets for 14 runs in 5 overs. Mojammel Hasan Shakil and Mainul Islam took one wicket each for 25 and 28 runs respectively in 9 and 17 overs.
Barisal Division (104 runs in the first innings) opened the 2nd innings and scored 116 runs for 5 at stumps in 68 overs.
Samir Md Kutubuddin and Mainul Islam were batting on 35 and 4 runs respectively while Redwanul Islam (37) and Mahmudur Rahman (22) were the other double digit scorers for the side.
In the other match at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, Chittagong Division trailed by 160 runs against Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) after day two.
On the 2nd day, Chittagong Division resumed the first innings with overnight 77 for 9 in 35.1 overs and were all out for 84 runs in 39.4 overs.
Overnight batsman Tarek Kamal (19) was the only double digit scorer for the side on the 2nd day while another overnight Shakhawat Hossain added not out 7 runs.
Abu Naser and Yasin Arafat grabbed three wickets each in the first innings for 19 and 21 runs respectively in 7 and 6.4 overs.
BKSP (175 runs in the first innings) opened the 2nd innings and scored 124 runs for all in 46.3 overs.
Number seven Riazul Islam scored team highest 34 runs while opening batsman Abu Musa and Jakir Ali Anik scored 29 and 20 runs respectively.
Nayeem Hasan grabbed three wickets for 18 runs in 8 overs while Alam Mia, Shakhawat Hossain and Golam Rabbi Fahim tootk two wickets each for 26, 29 and 31 runs respectively in 11, 11 and 12 runs.
Chittagong Division opened the 2nd innings and scored 55 for 3 at stumps in 41 overs, at the end of the 2nd day.
Abdullah Al Mashrur scored team highest 23 runs while Sohel Rana (18) and Arafatul Islam (0) were batting on.
Sartaz Aziz took two wickets for 4 runs in 5 overs and Abu Naser took one wicket for 8 runs in 6 overs.
