League leader Bashundhara Kings will face Mohammedan Sporting Club to confirm their maiden title of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football today (Wednesday) with two matches to spare, reports UNB.
The match will kick off at 4pm at the Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari.
Bashundhara Kings need just one win from their three remaining matches to secure their maiden BPL title.
Earlier, Sheikh Russel KC gave the Kings their first taste of defeat of the season on July 19. Despite the defeat, Bashundhara Kings maintained their top spot, now with a return of 58 points from 21 matches. Their nearest rivals and defending champions Dhaka Abahani remain 4 points behind despite playing a game more, for their collection of 54 points from 22 matches. On the other hand, Mohammedan SC are full of confidence after claiming two successive wins. Mohammedan SC Ltd are now at the 9th securing 23 points from 21 matches with six wins, five draws and ten defeats.
In other matches on the same day, Muktijoddha SKC will take on Sheikh Russel KC at 4pm at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj, Arambagh KS will take on Team BJMC at 4pm at Shaheed Bhulu Stadium in Noakhali and Dhaka Abahani will lock horns with Chattagram Abahani at 7pm at Bangabandhu Stadium.
