Bashundhara Kings make history

Bashundhara Kings set new history in the country's domestic football after winning the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football title three successive times in a row beating Saif Sporting Club by 2-0 goals held on Monday at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj, reports BSS.

The coaching staff, players and supporters of Kings busted into joy when the referee blew the final whistle. It was a special celebration for the Kings because there is no record of special achievement of any team to become hat-trick champions immediately after debuting at the country's top-level football.

Abahani Limited Dhaka also have a hat-trick league title since the professional league was initiated. Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, which made its debut in the professional league in 2010, won twice the title in a row but could not achieve the hat-trick title.
