The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) are in discussions to play a white-ball series in October, reports Cricbuzz.

The series comprised with three ODIs and as many T20Is is likely to be played from the first half of October in Dubai considering both teams have international assignments in the second part of the month with Bangladesh set to host West Indies at their own backyard for a full-fledged series whereas Afghanistan have a tour of Zimbabwe scheduled during the same time.Afghanistan were initially slated to host Bangladesh for two Tests, along with three ODIs and three T20Is, in July 2024 but that tour got postponed upon request from the BCB who cited workload management.

The ACB then proposed a white-ball series - three ODIs and three T20Is - in July-August at Greater Noida but that too didn't materialize as the BCB felt the weather in that part of India wouldn't be ideal for an international series.
