The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) awarded the national cricket team's sponsorship rights to Top of Mind for two years, that will be effective from the BD-India series in June, after conducting the bidding process Wednesday, reports UNB.
Top of Mind is a media planning company that has earned the right for a bid of Tk 414.1 million (41.41 crore). The nearest bidder was the leading telecommunication company Grameenphone which offered Tk 410 million while the base price had been set at Tk 300 million.
The auction for winning sponsorship rights took place in three phases. Grameenphone led the first two phases with their last bid was Tk 410 million.
BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon made the disclosure Wednesday at a press conference at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. He said, "Top of Mind bagged the deal beating Grameenphone in bids."
Top of Mind also holds the sponsorship rights of Under-19, Bangladesh 'A' and National Women's Cricket Team.
Earlier, BCB awarded Top of Mind the team sponsorship rights for the Pakistan series in April. The agreement was completed after the BCB's four-year contract with Aamby Valley, an affiliate of Sahara India Parivar, was terminated 15 months before it was scheduled to end. The winning quote was reportedly more than Tk 30 million.
