BCB confident on getting Ganguly on board

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is optimistic about getting former India captain Sourav Ganguly on board as batting consultant, reports bdnews24.com.

However, he will not be available before the World Cup next year, confirmed board chief Nazmul Hasan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city Tuesday.

Ganguly led India against the Tigers' in their inaugural Test and BCB now has a strong relations with him.

The BCB XI took part in the Acharya Memorial Trophy, organised for Eden Gardens' 150-year anniversary, a few days back in response to Ganguly's invitation.

The BCB chief is confident about working with the batting great in future.

"There is no doubt that Sourav will come, because I've had words with him. He himself is interested and so are we."

Earlier, the former India captain, while he was in Bangladesh as a commentator for the Twenty20 World Cup in March-April this year, said that he was open to the idea of coaching the Tigers.

Later BCB dismissed speculations in the media over him being the next head coach and said the team might have him as a consultant.
