BCB congratulated Dr Asif Nazrul on becoming the Adviser to the Ministry of Youth & Sports.

Moreover, it also thanked the outgoing adviser of the ministry Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain for his support and constructive engagement for Bangladesh cricket throughout his tenure, reports BSS.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Md Aminul Islam said on Thursday the board looks forward to working closely with Dr Nazrul and admired Shojib's commitment to cricket's development.

Dr Nazrul has long been recognised as someone with a genuine interest in sports and the BCB believes that his new responsibilities will allow him to channel that commitment toward meaningful progress across all disciplines.

"We wish him every success. His familiarity with public affairs and his longstanding enthusiasm for sport give us reason to believe he will play a constructive role in strengthening the sector," he said. "Bangladesh cricket is moving forward with clear objectives, and we hope he will stand beside us as we aim for higher standards at every level," the BCB president added.

Moreover, a statement from the BCB read, "We are deeply appreciative of the clarity and enthusiasm with which Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain approached every issue concerning cricket."

"His guidance came at crucial moments, whether it was strengthening infrastructure, helping us overcome operational hurdles, or simply ensuring that the board could move forward with confidence."

As the adviser now steps into the next phase of his public life, the BCB extends its warmest wishes, the statement said.
