BCB to organise exhibition match tomorrow

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is organising an exhibition cricket match between Shaheed Jewel XI and Shaheed Mushtaque XI at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium to celebrate the 40th Victory Day tomorrow (Friday), reports BSS. Sylhet's national all rounder Alok Kopali will lead the Shaheed Jewel XI while Chittagong's former Test player Nafis Iqbal will captain the Shaheed Mushtaque XI. BCB has already selected the players for the exhibition tie and has asked them to contact their respective team managers today (Thursday) at 10 am at the GP-BCB National Cricket Academy building in Mirpur. BCB started this traditional Victory Day cricket match in 1972 in memory of Liberation War martyrs Shaheed Abdul Halim Chowdhury Jewel and Shaheed Mushtaque Ahmed. Shaheed Abdul Halim Chowdhury Jewel was an attacking right-handed opening batsman for Azad Boys Club while Shaheed Mushtaque was a devoted cricket organiser and official of Azad Boys Club. Squads: Shaheed Jewel XI: Alok Kopali (captain), Nasir Uddin Fauque, Tasamul Haque, Nur Hossain, Zunaed Siddique, Roqibul Hasan, Farhad Hossain, Anamul Haque (Wicketkeeper), Enamul Haque, Saqlain Sajib, Shuvashis Roy, Syed Rasel and Alauddin Babu. Shaheed Mushtaque XI: Nafis Iqbal (captain), Rony Talakder, Shohag Gazi, Soumya Sarker, Asif Ahmed, Shuvagata Hom, Mahmudul Hasan, Dhiman Ghosh (Wicketkeeper), Musharraf Hossain, Arafat Sunny, Mohammad Sharif, Kazi Kamrul and Mahbubul Alam.
