Bangladesh A team leveled the three-match unofficial One Day Inter national (ODI) series 1-1 beating Zimbabwe A by 6 wickets in the curtailed over 2nd match at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah Tuesday, reports UNB.
In the day's match, replying to Zimbabwe's 163 runs, Bangladesh batted well to score 156 for 4 in 31.1 overs as rain halted the match. The revised target as per D/L method was fixed at 158 runs in reduced 47 overs.
Resuming the innings after rain, Bangladesh reached the revised target for four wickets in 31.4 overs.
Opener Soumya Sarker scored team highest 86 runs off 83 balls with 12 fours and a six and later grabbed two wickets for 23 runs to be adjudged man of the match.
In the opening stand, Soumya Sarker contributed 80 runs partnering with Liton Kumar Das (29) in 17.3 overs.
Naeem Islam (not out 13) and Mosaddek Hossain (not out 11) were the other notable scorers for Bangladesh.
Wellington Masakadza and Tafadzwa Kamungozi took two wickets each for 18 and 52 runs respectively.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Zimbabwe scored 163 for 9 in stipulated 50 overs.
Skipper Vusi Sibanda scored team highest 74 runs off 97 balls with seven boundaries while Tawanda Mupariwa (19), opening batsman Regis Chakabva (15), opener Brian Chari (11), Timycen Maruma (10) were the other double digit scorers for Zimbabwe.
Jubair Hossain and Elias Sunny grabbed two wickets each for 28 and 29 runs respectively.
In the first ODI, Sunday, host Bangladesh lost to Zimbabwe by 17 runs at the same venue.
The remaining 3rd and last ODI will be held today (Wednesday), also at the same venue.
