BD finish runners-up in Int\\\'l Karate

Bangladesh Karate team finished runners-up in the 8th NSKA International Martial Art Karate Championship securing seven gold, two silver and three bronze medals at the event held in Kathmandu, Nepal Saturday, reports UNB.
Nasima Akhter Jui of Bangladesh, who won the gold medal in the -55 kg Kumi, was adjudged the best player in the women's group.
Agriculture Minister of Nepal NP South was the chief guest in the day's closing function and later he distributed the prizes. Additional Director of Bangladesh team's sponsor RB Group (Walton) FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn was also present on the occasion.
Bangladesh Karate team got five more gold medals on the closing day (Saturday) in addition to Friday's two gold medals.
In the day's event, Munni Khanam of Bangladesh won the gold medal in the women's singles Kata, Munni Khanam clinch another gold in women's open Kumi, Nasima Akhter Jui got the gold medal in women's -55 kg Kumi, Mohammad Hasan Khan won the gold medal in men's open Kata while Shamim Osman took the gold medal in -60 kg Men's singles Kumi event.
