Bangladesh Hockey team, ranked 30th, ended 3rd in the four-team Pool-B of the World Hockey League (Round-2) losing to their superior opponent 18th ranked Poland 0-5 in their 3rd and last pool match in Singapore Tuesday, reports UNB.
In the quarterfinal stage, Bangladesh will face Pool-A 2nd place finisher Oman Thursday (3:30 pm Bangladesh time).
In the remaining three quarterfinals on the day, Pool-B champion Poland will take on hosts Singapore while Pool-A champion Malaysia will face Mexico and Japan play against Ukraine.
In the day's Pool-B match, Poland captain Pawel Bratkowski made a hat-trick scoring three penalty corner goals in 3rd, 5th and 22nd minute while Adam Chwalisz made a field goal in 42nd minute and Piotr Kozlowski scored one penalty corner goal in 44th minute.
Earlier, Bangladesh tasted the only 6-1 win against all losers Mexico in the 2nd match and lost to 2nd place finisher Japan 1-5 in the opener.
