BD to participate in 5th Int’l Karate in Goa

Bangladesh will participate in the 5th International Karate Championship that begins today (Friday) in the Indian tourist town of Goa, reports UNB.
Seven countries-Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, USA, Nigeria and hosts India-will take part in the four-day competition.
Bangladesh karate team comprising six players and six officials is being sponsored by Bangladesh Ansar and RB Group (Walton).
Team: Hasan Khan, Hossain Khan, Iftekhar Hossain, Md Sharif, Nasima Akhter and Munni Khanam.
Officials - Nemai Kumar Das (team leader), ABM Ashraful Islam (team manager), FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn (guest), Humayun Kabir Jewel (technical director), M Jashimuddin, Iqbal Hossain and Syed Hanifur Rahman (referee).
Bangladesh, which participated in the 4th International Karate Championship 2013 in Mumbai, finished runners-up securing 12 gold, nine silver and six bronze medals.
