Bangladesh Women's Cricket team, now touring South Africa, scored 270 for 2 in 50 overs against North West Women's team in the first warm-up match, reports UNB.

The match was held at the North West University ground in Potchefstroom on Wednesday ahead of their five-match one day international (ODI) and three-match T20 series.

Bangladesh will play their first match of the ODI series against hosts South Africa on May 4 at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom.

Favoured by coin, Bangladesh Women's opened first and faced initial batting collapse losing two openers -- Murshida Khatun (0) and Sanjida Islam (4) --cheaply for 4 runs in 2.4 overs.

But captain Rumana Ahmed pairing with one down Fargana Haque carried the team to a respectable position contributing an unbeaten 266 runs in the 3rd wicket stand. Number four Rumana Ahmed hammered unconquered 136 runs off 144 balls featuring 20 boundaries. One down Fargana Haque contributed unbeaten 102 runs off 142 deliveries hitting 10 boundaries. A Bosch and E Yekile grabbed one wicket each conceding 31 and 35 runs respectively.

In reply, North West Women's team opened the innings and scored with 70 runs for 1 in 18 overs. T Brits was on the crease with 46 runs and M Nape on 6 after the departure of opener T Cronje with 9 runs till filing of this report.
