Bangladesh Men's Hockey team completed the 12-nation 19th Asian Games Men's Hockey assignment with a humiliating 0-12 goals defeat to India in their last Pool A match at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium in Hangzhou on Monday, reports UNB.
Bangladesh suffered their biggest defeat to India, matching the low set 41 years back, after their 0-12 goals defeat in the Delhi Asian Games in 1982.
But Bangladesh suffered their biggest defeat in their first appearance in the Asian Games in 1978 losing to Pakistan by 0-17 goals, followed by their 0-14 defeat to South Korea in 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok.
With the day's well merited victory, India clinched the top slot of six-team Pool A to reach the semifinal with an all win record securing full 15 points from all the five group encounters while Bangladesh finished 4th in Pool A.
