B'desh to play Afghanistan in 3rd place-decider, India meet Nepal in final today

Bangladesh will play emerging force Afghanistan in the 3rd place-deciding match of the 2nd SAFF Under-16 Championship at 1:30 pm (Nepal time) at the Nepal Army ground in Lagankhel, Kathmandu today (Tuesday), reports UNB. Two unbeaten teams-India and hosts Nepal-will meet in the final today (Tuesday) at 3:30 pm (Nepal time) at the Dasrath Stadium in Kathmandu. Bangladesh made early exit from the seven-nation SAFF junior meet after a frustrating 1-5 goals defeat against hosts Nepal in the semifinal. Bangladesh reached the semifinal beating all-losers Sri Lanka 3-1 despite 0-2 goals defeat against India. Afghanistan was eliminated from the semifinal conceding a 3-4 defeat against India in tie breaker after the stipulated time ended goalless. On way to the semifinal, Afghanistan beat Bhutan 3-1, drew goalless with holders Pakistan and played to one-all draw with hosts Nepal in the group matches. On their road to the final, Nepal eliminated Bangladesh by 5-1 goals in the semifinal. Earlier, they beat Bhutan 7-0, Pakistan 3-0 and drew one-all with Afghanistan in the group outings. On the other hand, India outclassed Sri Lanka 4-1, beat Bangladesh 2-0 and eliminated Afghanistan 4-3 in tie breaker.
