B'desh U-19 whitewash Zimbabwe U-19

Riding on two centuries by openers Amit Mujumder and Anamul Haque, Bangladesh U-19 team whitewashed their Zimbabwe counterpart crushing them by 121 runs in the 5th Youth One Day International (ODI) of the five-match Youth ODI series at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra Friday, reports UNB.
This was the 5th successive win for the hosts after beating the visitors by six wickets in the first match, an exciting one-wicket win in the 2nd match, 21-run victory in the 3rd match and 43-run win in the 4th match.
Put in to bat first, Bangladesh posted a competitive total of 270 runs in the stipulated 50 overs.
Opener Amit Mujumder and Anamul Haq gave the hosts a solid start contributing 231 runs in the opening stand.
Amit contributed 129 runs off 133 balls with 15 fours and three sixes while Anamaul Haque made 106 runs off 146 balls with nine fours and a six.
One down Sabbir Hossain and two down Imamul Hossain remained unbeaten with 15 and 8 runs till the end of the innings.
Chasing the target, Zimbabwe were all out for 149 runs in 34.4 overs with opener Gary Chirimuuta hammering 40 runs and his partner Daly Scott adding 25.
Edjaul Jaure (22), Natsaim Shangwe (18) and Simon Mugava (16) were the other notable scorers for the hosts.
Arman Badsha caused the major damage grabbing four wickets for 13 runs while Shaker Ahmed bagged two for 36.
Amit Mujumder of Bangladesh was adjudged the player of the match.
