BEIJING, Oct 16(AFP): Beijing plans to invest 1.8 billion yuan (240 million dollars) over the next few months to upgrade the city's power supply ahead of next year's Olympic Games, state media reported today.
Dozens of new substations and power lines are being put in place to secure a steady supply of electricity that can withstand a range of threats including natural disasters, the Beijing Youth Daily said.
