BFF election today

The much-talked-about congress and election of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will be held today (Monday) at the BFF House in the capital, reports UNB.
A total of 122 BFF councilors from all over the country will exercise their voting right to elect the president, one senior vice-president, four vice- presidents and 15 executive committee members today (Monday) from 2 pm to 6 pm.
Kazi M Salahuddin is leading a full panel of 21 members named as Sammilita Oikya Parishad while BFF member and former national footballer Golam Rabbani Helal along with others competing under the `Football Bachao' (save football) panel.
Fifty-two candidates, divided into two panels, will contest in the BFF polls for 21 posts. Of them, two are contesting for the hot seat of president, five for the one post of senior vice-president post, nine for four vice president posts and another 36 for the 15 posts of executive committee members.
In the last moment, incumbent president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin got walkover against former BFF general secretary and president-candidate Abdur Rahim who withdrew his candidature in favor of Salahuddin after the expiry of withdrawal date.
But, the name of Abdur Rahim will appear in the ballot paper as a president candidate as he withdrew his candidature after the expiry of the scheduled date.
Candidates of Salahuddin-led Oikya Parishad panel: President - Kazi M Salahuddin; senior vice president - Abdus Salam Murshedi; vice presidents (4) - Manzoor Hossain Malu, Badal Roy, Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir and Kazi Nabil Ahmed; and members - Alhaj Shamsul Haque Chowdhury MP, Harun-ur Rashid, Anwarul Haque Helal, Sirajul Islam Bachchu, Fazlur Rahman Babul, Sheikh Mohammad Aslam, Satyajit Das Rupu, Hasanuzzaman Khan Bablu, Alamgir Khan Alo, Ajmal Ahmed Tapan, Abdul Gaffar, Toufiqul Islam Tofa, Elias Hossain, Sheikh Mohammad Maruf Hasan and Arif Hossain Moon.
Other candidates: President - Abdur Rahim (withdrawn), senior vice president (1) - Golam Rabbani Helal, Ashrafuddin Ahmed Chunnu, Nurul Alam Chowdhury and Mostaqur Rahman;
Vice Presidents (4) - Khurshid Alam Babul, Syed Rumman Wali Bin Sabbir, Arif Khan Joy, Mohiuddin Mahi and Tabith M Awal; and
Members - Mohammad Shafiquzzaman, KM Sajjadur Rahman Dabloo, Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, Amirul Islam Babu, Afzar-ud-Zaman Sohrab, Khawja Mohsin, Saeed Hasan Kanan, Yousuf Bin Jalil, Mozammel Haque Mukta, AKM Mominul Haque Saeed. Abu Hasan Chowdhury Prince, Mahidur Rahman Miraj, Saiful Islam Bhuttu, Iqbal Hssain, M Rahmat Ali, Manjurul Alam Dulal, Ameer Khan, Shafiqul Islam Manik, Bijon Barua, Mahbubur Rahman Shaheen and Alamgir Kowshik.
Meanwhile, the court on Sunday dismissed the appeal filed by two councilors challenging the voter list for BFF election.
FIFA executive committee member Manilal Fernando and AFC assistant development officer Chrysanth Perera are scheduled to arrive in the city Sunday night as observer of BFF election.
