BGB clinch title beating Police

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) clinched the Exim Bank 24th National Men's Handball title beating Bangladesh Police by 41-31 goals in the final at the Shaheed (captain) M Monsur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city Thursday, reports UNB.
It was the 23rd and the 19th consecutive national handball crown for BGB, previously known as Bangladesh Rifles (BDR).
The winners led the first half by 16-13 goals. Kamrul Islam scored 13, Khairuzzaman netted eight and Sudhan Barua seven for the champions while Mahbub contributed 11, Arif seven and Didar four for the runners-up Bangladesh Police.
Khairuzzaman of BGB was adjudged the best player of the championship.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim was the chief guest in the day's final and distributed the trophies. President of Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul and General Secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor were also present on the occasion.
Earlier in the 3rd place-deciding match, Bangladesh Ansar finished the 3rd beating Chapainawabganj DSA by 39-24 goals after leading the first half by 22-10 goals at the same venue.
Robiul scored seven, Rakib five for the winners while Abdur Rab netted seven for the losers.
