BJMC, Naogaon win

BJMC and Naogaon DSA earned comfortable victories in the 2nd round of the Walton Air Conditioner National Youth (Under-19) Female Handball Tournament at Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city Thursday, reports UNB.

Naogaon DSA trounced Jessore DSA by 19-1 goal after leading the first half by 6-0. Nazmin scored eight goals and Shahnaz seven for the winners.

In the other match, BJMC outclassed Kushtia DSA by 21-5 goal with Shirin scoring eight goals for the winners.

Earlier, six teams-BJMC, Panchagarh, Jamalpur, Naogaon, Kushtia and Jessore DSAs-emerged group champions to reach the second round of the meet.

In the group matches, Naogaon crushed Rangamati 27-1; Jessore beat Rajshahi 12-5; and BJMC outclassed Dinajpur by 30-6 goal.

The remaining four 2nd round matches will be held today (Friday).
