BJMC retains Nat’l Women's Handball title

BASIC Bank Managing Director AH Ekbal Hossain distributing trophies among the winners of 18th National Women's Handball Championship as the chief guest in the city Tuesday.

Holders BJMC again emerged champions of the BASIC Bank 18th National Women's Handball Champ-ionship beating last year's runners-up Bangladesh Ansar & VDP by 14-11 goals in the final at the Outer Stadium Handball court Tuesday, reports UNB.
The champions led the first half 10-7.
Sadia Khatun scored highest five goals while Dalia Akhter netted three for BJMJ. Hasi Lata scored three goals for Ansar & VDP.
Meanwhile, Akherunnesa of the 3rd placed Dhaka DSA was adjudged the best player of the competition.
After the day's final, BASIC Bank Managing Director AH Ekbal Hossain distributed the trophies among the winners as the chief guest.
Bangladesh Handball Federation Senior Vice President and Organising Committee Chairman Kazi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary Asadu-zzaman Kohinoor and Organising Committee Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam were, among others, present on the occasion.
