BKSP beat Sylhet by 7 wkts

Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) beat Sylhet Division by seven wickets with one day to spare in a three-day match of the Young Tigers Under-18 National Cricket Tournament at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra Thursday, reports UNB.

In the day's match, BKSP resumed the first innings with overnight 92 for 5 in 27 overs and eventually scored 152 runs for all in 42.4 overs.

Overnight batsman Abbas Musa scored 78 runs off 79 balls with 13 fours and two sixes and was adjudged man of the match.

Another overnight Riazul Islam (20), Abu Naser (13) and Rahat Sarker (not out 12) were the double digit scorers for the side.

Ahadur Rahman Ovi grabbed five wickets for 46 runs while Kalim Ahmed captured three wickets for 28 runs. Samed Khan Noyon and Imran Miah took one wicket each for 25 and 32 runs respectively.

In reply, Sylhet Division (93 runs in the first innings) opened the 2nd innings and bundled out for 98 runs in 34.1 overs.

Skipper Asadullah Al-Galib (47), number six Nawshad Akbar (26) and opener Mamun Ahmed (13) were the double digit scorers for their side.

Afif Hossain claimed four wickets without losing any run while Riazul Islam and Rahat Sarker grabbed two wickets each for 13 and 23 runs respectively.

Chasing a target of 40 runs BKSP (152 runs in the first innings) opened the 2nd innings and reached the target scoring 42 runs for 3 in 16.3 overs.

Afif Hossain (17), Sartaz Aziz (14) and Abbas Musa (not out 10) were the double digit scorers for their side.

Kamil Ahmed took two wickets for 22 runs while Asadullah Al- Galib took one wicket for 6 runs.

Meanwhile, in the other match on the 2nd day, Chittagong Division lead by 130 runs against Khulna Division at Rangpur Cricket Garden.

Khulna Division resumed the first innings with overnight 7 runs for no lose in 5 overs and were all out for 147 runs in 51.2 overs.

Number nine Sajol Islam hit team highest 50 runs off 42 balls while Abdul Rana (23), skipper Jalal Uddin (17), Ashraf Ahmed Ashiqur (17) and Kamruzzaman (14) were the double digit scorers for the side.

Naim Hasan captured six wickets for 48 runs while Monirul Islam grabbed three wickets for 33 runs.

In reply, Chittagong Division (178 runs in the first innings) opened the 2nd innings and scored 99 runs for 3 in 48 overs, at stumps on the 2nd day.

Tanvir Hasan scored team highest 30 runs while Monirul Islam and Tamjid Hasan were on batting scoring 24 and 21 runs respectively.
