BKSP crush Joypurhat

Defending champions BKSP made a flying start in the Araf Apparels 21st National Youth Hockey Competition crushing Joypurhat DSA by 16-0 goals in the opening match at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the city Monday, reports UNB.
BKSP led the first half by 8-0 goals in the one-sided match.
Mohammad Hasan Zubair scored six goals while Pushkar Khisha netted five for the winners. Ajit Kumar Ghosh struck twice while Mohammad Abdus Sabur, Zahidul Islam and Mohammad Rubel Hossain shared the other three goals for BKSP.
In another match, Dhaka DSA outclassed Chittagong Division by 11-0 goals with Mamun scoring highest three goals for the winners. Shahbaz, Faisal, Shaun and Rakib netted two goals each for the hosts.
In another match, Munshiganj DSA beat Tangail DSA by 2-1 goals with Saimon scoring both the goals for the winners. Arif netted the lone goal for Tangail DSA.
The day's other match between Chittagong DSA and Mymensingh DSA ended in a 1-1 draw. Jasim scored for Mymensingh DSA while Mohammad Mizanur Rahman restored parity for Chittagong DSA.
Earlier in the afternoon, Bangladesh Hockey Federation vice president Shahriar Alam, who is also the managing director of Araf Apparels, inaugurated the meet.
Federation joint secretary Khwaja Rahmatullah, tournament committee joint secretaries Badrul Islam Dipu and Hasan Uddin Shimul were, among others, present on the occasion.
