Brazilian soccer player De Jesus dies in accident

RIO DE JANEIRO, Jul 9 (XINHUA): Brazil's Palmeiras forward Carlos Adriano de Jesus Soares died early Sunday in a traffic accident in the Nova Iguacu neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro.
Local police officials said De Jesus "Alemao" was driving a Toyota Hillux with nine other people aboard, including two minors of nine and three years old, when he lost control of his car that flipped over and crashed against a wall.
The Sao Paolo Palmeiras leading striker, 23, and the two boys died due to the impact. The other six passengers were transferred to nearby Da Posse Hospital.
De Jesus was on sick leave due to an injury suffered in February during the Sao Paolo Championship and was expected to return late in 2007, according to doctors' orders.
