Brothers shock Muktijoddha

Brothers Union Club shocked Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 5-2 goals in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League held Friday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city, reports BSS.

Augustine Walson slammed the first hat-trick in the league as he scored four goals.

The freedom fighters took the lead in the early in 4th minute when Senegalese forward Camara Sarba took control of a long ball placed it in the far post net with a cool placing shot (1-0).

Brothers equalised in the 18th minute when Muktis defender Anisul Alam Sweet fouled Brothers midfielder Shariful in the danger zone and Haitian forward Augustine Walson made no mistake to convert the spot kick (1-1).

Walson scored his second in the 44th minute as he dribbled past two defenders and shot a grounder past Mukti goalie Titumur (2-1).

Enamul pulled Brothers back into the game again in the 57th minute off a penalty (2-2). The very next minute Shariful scored the third for Brothers as he received a long ball of Imtiaz Sultan Jitu and ran through the defence to place the ball into the far post net from the right corner of the box (3-2).

Augustine Walson completed his hat-trick in the 87th minute off a penalty after Akteruzaman Liton fouled Brothers midfielder Shafiqul in the box and Walson converted (4-2).

In the stoppage time Walson added his fourth off a square pass of Kester Akon (5-2).

With the day's win, Brothers have 10 points from five matches while Muktijoddha 12 from the same number of matches.
