Brothers Union win in Premier Football

Brothers Union Club advanced to the 3rd slot in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League beating Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 3-2 goals in a keenly contested 2nd leg match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Thursday, reports UNB.
With the day's feat, the Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club toppled two popular clubs-Mohammedan SC and Abahani Limited-securing 28 points from 15 matches while Muktijoddha SKC remained in the 6th slot with their previous credit of 21 points, also playing same number of matches.
Sheikh Jamal DC comfortably dominated the league table securing 36 points. Sheikh Russel KC followed the leader with 29 points while Mohammedan SC and Abahani Limited bagged 27 points each.
In the day's match, Kester Akon struck twice in the 18th and 78th minute while Mohammad Rony netted the other goal for Brothers in the stoppage time. Guinean forward Camara Sarba netted both the goals for the freedom fighters team Muktijoddha SKC.
Guinean forward Camara Sarba put Muktijoddha ahead in the 13th minute by a good header off a Siraji cross (1-0).
Kester Akon equalised the margin for Brothers Union in the 18th minute utilising a cross of defender Krishnopod (1-1).
