Brothers Union win over Feni Soccer in Fed Cup Football

A brace by Brazilian striker Everton guided Brothers Union Club to a 3-1 win over Feni Soccer Club in the group B final round encounter of the GrameenPhone Federation Cup Football at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city Tuesday, reports UNB.
Masudul Alam Bulbul scored first for Feni Soccer Club while Everton scored two goals and Faisal Mahmud netted one goal for the winners. The match was locked 1-1 in the first half.
After receiving a ball from counter attack, Bulbul scored in the 17th minute with a lofted shot at the open net from danger zone after Brothers Union custodian Mitul came forward to clear the ball (1-0).
Striker Everton leveled the margin for Brothers Union in the 34th minute. Taking a pass from Faisal Mahmud, he sent the ball home with a right footer from in the the D-box after dodging past some opponent defenders (1-1).
After the lemon break, Everton scored his second goal in the 48th minute giving Brothers Union the lead. He took a superb shot from inside the D-box off a Bentil pass, giving no chance to Feni custodian Piru (2-1).
Faisal Mahmud completed the winners' tally in the 70th minute scoring with an angular shot from 12 yards off a cross from Bentil. The ball found the net after kissing the cross bar (3-1).
Earlier, Brothers Union Club were deprived of a certain goal in the 51st minute as Bentil's ground shot from the vantage position swished past beside the side bar.
The Gopibagh-based Brothers Union played good football especially in the second half and notched their deserving victory while Feni Soccer Club failed to create any other real move except the lone goal.
