BSS’s Mamun earns double crown in JPC Table Tennis

Syed Mohammad Mamun of the BSS earned the double crown in the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) Table Tennis Competition winning both the singles and doubles crown held at the club's sports room in the city Monday, reports UNB.

Mamun clinched the 4th consecutive singles title of the meet beating Sheikh Enamul Haque of the Daily Star by 11-3, 11-8 points in the final.

He reached the final eliminating Kazi Rownak Hossain by 11-9, 11-6 points in the event's semifinal.

Mamun shared the doubles title pairing with his singles opponent Sheikh Enamul Haque beating Kazi Rownak Hossain and Faisal Mokammel partner by 11-6, 11-7 points in the event's final on the same day and same venue.

Earlier, general secretary of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) Syed Abdal Ahmed inaugurated the meet in the morning. JPC senior vice-president Kazi Rownak Hossain, vice-president Baktiar Rana, joint secretary Kader Gani Chowdhury and JPC member Kamalur Rahman were also present on the occasion.
