BTI signs MoU with BGF for development of golf

FE Report Building Technology and Ideas Ltd (BTI), one of the leading real estate companies of the country, Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) to help development of the national team of golf players. BTI marketing chief operating officer Md Tofazzul Hossain and BGF secretary general Brig Gen Md Enayet Ullah signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations at a ceremony at BTI corporate office in the city. Md Tofazzul Hossain said: "We are initially signing the MoU with BGF for one year for the development of nine golf players of national team. All the players will get different facilities including training and monthly honorarium for improving their career". The national team players are Md Abdur Rahman, Md Rubel, Md Nazim, Md Musa, Md Sagar, Md Abul Hossain and Md Sobhan. He told the FE: "We are planning to buy high speed camera and software to record the shots of golf players and play the shots to them so that they could find their faulty with the help of their coach. We will help the golf players to lift them up in the national and international arena of golf." He added: "We want to make golf a popular game in the country and for this we are working for the development of national team players. After completing the one-year tenure we are planning to renew the MoU for next three years again." The BGF secretary general said: "Golf can play a key role in creating a positive image at international level. We need to provide proper support to the golfers so that they could develop their talent." "Proper instruments of golf and platform will help encourage the golfers of the national team," he said and urged different corporate companies of the country to come forward and extend their helping hand for developing the game in the country. Brig Gen Salim Akhtar (Retd), member (development) of BGF, said: "Golf can be a lucrative profession for the young generation. So we should encourage the young generation of our country." "Golfers in foreign countries get different facilities. We have bright golfers in our country. We need to train them properly and create opportunity for different tournaments which will encourage them more." He also urged the different companies to support the golfers for the development of the game like cricket and football. Brig Gen Md Enayet Ullah, Col SM Shawkat Ali (Retd), joint secretary of BGF, and CEO of Kurmitola Golf Club, Brig Gen Salim Akhtar (Retd), and Arshi Haider, president of Bangladesh Professional Golfers Association, were present, among others, at the press conference.
