Former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Aminul Islam Bulbul has written to the International Cricket Council (ICC), urging it to suspend Bangladesh's full membership, freeze ICC funding and bar the country's national teams from all ICC tournaments until his elected board is reinstated, reports bdnews24.com.
The National Sports Council (NSC) dissolved the Aminul-led board in April - having found irregularities across all categories of the election that elected him president. Aminul has continued to maintain that he remains the BCB's legitimate president.
In the legal submission to the ICC, Bulbul identifies himself as the valid BCB chief and seeks punitive measures against the board pending a resolution of the governance dispute.
"This is completely false," he said.
Despite his denial, journalists obtained several pages of the legal complaint submitted to the ICC through his legal counsel, bearing Bulbul's signature.
Under a section titled "FREEZE ICC FUNDING PENDING RESTORATION", the complaint asks the ICC to withhold all funding due to the BCB.
"Direct that all ICC funding currently due or payable to the BCB be placed in escrow or frozen pending: (a) the ICC's determination of the legitimate governing authority of the BCB; (b) the reinstatement of the elected board or a final determination by the ICC DRC; and (c) the conclusion of the domestic court proceedings in Bangladesh. No ICC funding should be released to any body claiming BCB authority on the basis of the 07 June 2026 election."
