BEIJING, Aug 15 (AFP): Cao Lei of China won the women's 75kg weightlifting gold medal at the Beijing Olympics Friday.
Cao hoisted 128kg in the snatch and 154kg in the clean and jerk for a total lift of 282kg, all three being new Olympic records. Alia Vazhenina of Kazakhstan won the silver medal with a 266kg total, while Russia's Nadezda Evstyukhina got the bronze medal with a total effort of 264kg.
