PARIS, Feb 10 (AFP): Top seed Anna Chakvetadze ended French hopes when she ousted third seed Marion Bartoli from the WTA Paris Indoor Open here Saturday to set up a final showdown with Hungary's Agnes Szavay.
Russian Chakvetadze rallied 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 against an ailing Bartoli in just under two hours after seventh seed Szavay earlier eliminated fourth seed Elena Dementieva of Russia 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 in 2hr 11min.
Both will enter Sunday's tie having never lost a final.
Szavay, 19, will bid for her third WTA title and Chakvetadze, 20, her seventh.
Szavay's won her previous two titles at Palermo and Beijing last year, while Chakvetadze won four of her six in 2007.
Chakvetadze admitted she would have to get off to a better start Sunday than her past two matches after trailing 0-3 in the first set against both Bartoli and Amelie Mauresmo in Friday's quarter-final.
French number one Bartoli had been carrying home hopes after the elimination of two-time winner Mauresmo.
