Channel-i, Karotoa, Naya Diganta move to quarterfinals

Three teams - Channel-i, Karotoa and Naya Diganta -- advanced to the quarterfinals of the Pepsi-DRU Six-A-Side Cricket Tournament winning their respective matches at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the city Monday, repoirts UNB.
Channel-i (66/4) outplayed Bhorer Kagoj (37/4) by 29 runs, Karotoa (83/0) defeated Sangram (64/5) by 19 runs and Naya Diganta (67/0) beat Inqilab (62/4) by four runs.
In the day's other matches, CSB (14/0) outplayed BSS (13/1) by five wickets, New Nation (27/0) defeated Manavzamin (26/5), also by five wickets, Janakantha (96/2) crushed Bhorer Dak (34/2) by 62 runs while Banglabazar Patrika (57/2) beat Amader Shomoy (56/1) by three wickets.
Meanwhile, Amar Desh earned full points against Boishakhi under section five of the tournament bylaws as the private satellite channel illegally formed their team with players who are not members of DRU.
Tuesday's matches: New Age vs Amar Desh, Ajker Kagoj vs BSS (9:30 am), Shamokal vs Desh Bangla, Banglabazar Patrika vs Khabarpatro 10:30 am), and Independent vs Inqilab (11:30 am).
