Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal has been elected the new president of World Archery Asia (WAA), defeating Thomas Haan of South Korea, reports BSS.
The election was held during the Asian Archery Congress at a local hotel in the capital on Saturday. Chapal received 29 votes while his South Korean rival Thomas Haan got nine votes. Chapal is not only a keen organiser but also a patron, establishing himself in world archery beyond the borders of Bangladesh. Chapal, the founding general secretary of BD Archery Federation, served as a vice-president of World Archery Asia for two terms.
