Chennai's Bravo out of IPL with groin injury

DUBAI, Oct 21 (AFP): West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out of the rest of the Indian Premier League with a groin injury, his Chennai Super Kings team said Wednesday.
Bravo could not bowl the last over in Chennai's game against Delhi Capitals on Saturday and missed the following match. The three-time champions who are struggling, bottom of the eight-team table.
"Bravo is ruled out with a groin injury and flying back home," CSK chief executive Kasi Viswanathan said. "The team management has yet to decide whether to seek a replacement or not."
The 37-year-old played six games and scored seven runs in two innings. He claimed six wickets with his pace bowling.
Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni admitted after his team's seventh loss from 10 games on Monday that their tournament is virtually over.
Meanwhile, New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert has joined the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League to replace injured bowler Ali Khan.
Seifert, who has played three one-day internationals and 24 Twenty20 matches for the national side, joins the Eoin Morgan-team just when they are still in a chance to reach the IPL playoffs.
Khan became the first US national to join the lucrative T20 league after being signed by Kolkata last month after an impressive show in the Caribbean Premier League. He did not play a game, however.
Kolkata are fourth on the eight-team table with five wins and four defeats.
They changed captains last week when Dinesh Karthik handed over the reins to Morgan.
