Saiful Bari Tito, the head coach of Chittagong Abahani Limited which have already crushed out of the title race of the Bangladesh Premier League Football, was sacked on Wednesday due to poor performance of the team in the last few matches, reports UNB.
Last year's runners-up, Chittagong Abahani dominated the league table till 17th round but lost their rhythm in the last three matches to be eliminated from the race after conceding 0-2 defeat against lowly Muktijoddha SKC, 1-3 defeat against Sheikh Jamal DC and making draw with Brothers Union Club.
Confirming the matter, an official of Chittagong Abahani said they have already informed it to Tito.
Team's Assistant Coach and former famed footballer Zulfiqar Mahmud Mintu is expected to take over the charge for the remaining two matches.
Chittagong Abahani Limited, now in the 3rd slot of the 12-team league after Dhaka Abahani (48) and Sheikh Jamal DC (47) securing 43 points from 20 matches, will play Saif SC on January 7 and Dhaka Abahani on January 11 in the remaining league encounters.
