Cricketers urge countrymen to stand beside flood affected people

Bangladesh cricketers has urged the countrymen to stand beside the affected people who have been hit hard by flood, reports BSS.

A number of districts of Bangladesh are under flood now, causing the inexpressible sufferings of the people.

In the wake of the situation, the cricketers believe as a human being every people should help them immediately.

"Oh my Allah, please be kind to the flood-affected people, Ameen," national pacer Shoriful Islam who is playing the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi wrote in his facebook post.

Batter Towhid Hridoy who is now Islamabad to play against Pakistan Shaheens for Bangladesh A team, said he felt helpless as he can't stand by the people directly.

"I really felt helpless because I can't be there to come as support for the flood victims. I sent my friends to the affected area. I know they will try their best but still whatever we do, will it be enough? We need to do still whatever we can do and everyone should come forward," read a Facebook post of Hridoy.

"Not only now, but we need to stand by the victims till the water recedes. We know how to fight. Allah almighty will definitely help us."

Sohan who is currently in the country, has also expressed his helplessness in such a situation.

"After seeing the picture of the flood victims, I feel completely helpless. May Allah protect them from this situation," wrote Sohan, sharing a picture of a flood victim.
