NEW DELHI, Oct 31: Cristiano Ronaldo has taken just three months to get into Juventus' record books. Ronaldo played his first Serie A match on August 18 and 10 league matches later, he has a record to his name.
Ronaldo has scored seven goals in 10 Serie A matches equalling a record set by Welshman John Charles in the 1957-58 campaign for the Old Lady, according to India Today
Ronaldo began his campaign in Italy slowly as he went goalless for the first three league matches. However, the Portuguese broke the deadlock against Sassuolo on September 16 with a brace and since then he has never looked back.
After the Sassuolo game, Ronaldo has scored five goals in five matches, including the most recent brace against Empoli that gave Juventus a come-from-behind victory.
In the match against Empoli, Ronaldo netted his first goal through a dodgy penalty earned by Paulo Dybala. But it was the second goal that was a special Cristiano Ronaldo strike.
Ronaldo collected a pass outside the penalty area and struck a brilliant dipping and swerving shot from 25 metres away past the Empoli goalkeeper. It was Ronaldo's most eye-catching goal for Juventus so far.
John Charles ended his debut campaign with Juventus at 28 goals and Ronaldo will surely fancy more than that.
Juventus have had really big names over the years in Gonzalo Higuain, Carlos Tevez, Alessandro Del Piero, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and more.
While Higuain, Tevez and Filippo Inzaghi all scored six goals in the first 10 Serie A matches, Del Piero, Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet had managed five goals in 10 games.
Currently in the Serie A season, Ronaldo is the second highest goalscorer with Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek two goals ahead of him.
Recently in a candid talk with France Football magazine, Ronaldo asserted that his move to Juventus from Real Madrid was definitely not for money but because Juventus made him feel like they wanted him.
